NYR Organic for healthy skin

Shiatsu, working with touch, benefits the whole person on a deep level. However the surface is important too, as our skin (our body's largest organ) can be helped or harmed by the products we use.

I became a NYR Organic Independent Consultant because of their high ethical standards and the efficacy of their products. They use high-quality natural ingredients and essential oils and are free from synthetic chemicals, preservatives and animal testing. I am happy to share and demonstrate the products on an individual basis as well as at parties and events.

Hospice care is based on the belief that each person is more than their illness, and that each of us has unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Woking & Sam Beare Hospices responds to the needs of each individual, helping people achieve the best possible quality of life.”

If you are unable to attend but would like to contribute,  you can send a donation directly to the Hospices and use Gift Aid to make your donation go further. Click here for the charity’s website.

Here are some photos of previous events, and the story of how it started.

In 2007 the Zen School of Shiatsu established the London Shiatsuthon in partnership with 95.8 Capital FM to raise money for Help A Capital Child (HACC). HACC provides financial support to hundreds of grass-roots projects working directly with disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people. In 2010/11 HACC helped 84,000 young people. I took part in the first event, giving treatments at Capital Radio. As most of my clients and friends live in Surrey I decided to hold a local event, and the first Cobham Shiatsuthon in 2009 raised £214 and in 2010 the total was £290. The 2011 Shiatsuthon more than doubled that figure, raising £600. In 2012, thanks to donations from several local businesses, we raised £635. In 2013 I held a smaller event which  raised £300.

In 2014 I wanted to support a local charity, so that the Cobham Shiatsuthon would help the lives of people in our community.  I chose to support the Woking & Sam Beare Hospice as I had done some voluntary work with them  during my Shiatsu training and had first-hand experience of their valuable work. On Saturday 23rd August we raised £290.

The 2015 Cobham Shiatsuthon raised £425.

The 2016 Cobham Shiatsuthon raised £420. Thank you so much to all who attended and donated.
