Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang (or Hara Shiatsu) is abdominal massage which connects deeply but gently with your centre to release tension and balance the flow of energy. Chi Nei Tsang is given directly on the skin of the abdomen. Sometimes a Chi Nei Tsang session may include stretches and movement for the body, the lymphatic and/or circulatory system. During Chi Nei Tsang you remain fully clothed, lying on a comfortable floor mat which supports the whole body while allowing space for movement.

Our abdomens are busy places; our organs as well as our vascular, lymphatic, nervous and fascia-tendon-muscular systems all respond to the physical and emotional stresses of life. In addition to receiving Chi Nei Tsang, during treatments you will learn effective meditations such as the Inner Smile, Six Healing Sounds and Microcosmic Orbit. You will also learn hands-on ways of restoring your balance at home, and wherever you go, by giving Chi Nei Tsang treatments to yourself.

Chi Nei Tsang treat the individual needs of each person and all treatments include a consultation.

Due to the deep massage of the abdomen during Chi Nei Tsang it is contra-indicated during pregnancy (although it’s wonderful for women trying to conceive) or who use inter-uterine contraception (IUD/Coil). It is also unsuitable for people who have a pacemaker.
